Glimmer [n]: a faint or wavering light, a faint feeling or quality.
With Beltane’s arrival yesterday marking the beginning of Summer in the Celtic Wheel of the Year, we reach another seasonal transition. This year Beltane has also coincided with the full moon, the Flower Moon (and we will also have a second full moon, the Blue Moon, at the end of this month) so it feels like there’s a powerful energy rising in nature. I’m ready for the light and lightness of Summer, but it can also come with a little pressure - to be out and about, doing it all, Summer “ready” - whatever that means! So I’m taking my time to lean into the smaller joys instead, the micro-moments of lightness that make me feel hopeful and soothed in our busy modern world. As we celebrate Beltane, here are the glimmers I’ve been seeking and noticing of late - things I’ve been making, baking, doing, reflecting and working on.
