Here in Edinburgh the rain has just arrived, right on cue for the long weekend (how terribly British) but what better excuse for a spot of cosy crafting indoors than a little blustery weather? Decorating eggs has got to be one of the most nostalgic crafts for me at this time of year - and while I used to make mine little egg people complete with “googly” eyes and woollen plaits, thankfully my tastes have come on a little bit since then. There are instructions on how to naturally dye eggs in ‘Slow Seasons’ using household ingredients, and last year here I shared my step-by-step instructions for hand painted eggs in a variety of folk-inspired designs. This year I’m keeping things suitably Springlike with my preserved flower decorated eggs.
