Just over a year ago, I launched paid subscriptions here on Substack and spoke about valuing community and creativity. I still feel so strongly about this, especially now my book, ‘Slow Seasons’, is out in the world. When lockdown happened and I started writing again, really writing and working on my book proposal, I realised that creative piece of the puzzle that had been missing in my life for so long. Soon after that, I found Substack. A place where I could grow a community without algorithms, a place where I could prioritise my words, a place where I could value my own creativity and pursue my passion. I wrote more about my reasons behind starting my paid community here, and I stand by these words today.
