This is one of my favourite times of year in the kitchen as there is just so much gorgeous seasonal produce to enjoy, a true reflection of nature’s abundance at the height of Summer. In the period between Litha and Lùnastal - the end of June to the start of August - we are so lucky here in the Northern Hemisphere to have so many sunshine-filled ingredients to enjoy. Summer produce always seems to tempt me to slow down and enjoy its short-lived flavours, whether cherries, currants or greengages, which seem to only really have a micro-season - I savour them all the more for it. Without further ado, here is my seasonal list of fruit, veg and herbs that are abundant right now - and some creative ideas for what to make with them without switching on the oven at all...
