Ostara Glimmers
Seeking small joys as we head towards Ostara, the Spring Equinox, this month 🌱
Glimmer [n]: a faint or wavering light, a faint feeling or quality.
With the Spring Equinox on the horizon later this month, we’re reaching a key point of transition in the Celtic Wheel of the Year. It feels as though it has been a long Winter in nature, but also in the world. I’m ready for Spring proper to arrive but at the same time things feel a little heavy and effortful. I think it’s natural to feel this way - after all, there is some comfort in the dark, the cosy cocoon of Winter. I’m reminding myself to take my time to emerge, to let the new season’s energy bloom gradually in slow and meaningful ways. To help with this, I’m taking my time to note and notice glimmers each day. Growing research finds that these micro-moments of joy really do enable us to feel more hopeful, safe and soothed. As we linger on the cusp of the transition to full Spring, here are the glimmers I’ve been seeking out recently: the things I’ve been making, baking, doing, reflecting and working on.
