Now that the necessary work to make the flat liveable has finished and the tenement is no longer a building site, the pace of renovation progress has slowed considerably - but we were both very ready to reach this point! The big messy work was done as quickly as we could so that we could move in, and now the business of making the place more homely begins: namely decorating, soft furnishing and the finishing touches. There are still a fair few boxes around but we are sorting and finding proper homes for things as we go.

At first I kept thinking I needed to wait until things were more “finished” before sharing but really, is a home ever finished?! I’m working on my perfectionist tendencies and the Instagram pressure of a neat “before and after” comparison - instead, I want to share more snippets as we go, and the slow but steady process of making this house a home. First up, we started thinking about our colour palette and began tackling some of the woodwork.
