Seasonal Reading: Midwinter
Some favourite reads for deepest winter, and what I've been reading recently ✨
Hello and happy new year! I hope you’ve been enjoying a gentle start to the year if you can, and I’m sending you all the best for 2026. Over the festive season I’ve been reflecting on this lovely space we have created together and thinking about how I can develop things. No big changes - just a few small tweaks to hopefully make the structure of things clearer for me, and for you! As you know, I tend to share a craft, a recipe, reflection, activity and journaling prompts; some of these series have been monthly, while some appear around the celebrations in the Celtic Wheel (the solstices, equinoxes and their rough midpoints). For consistency, I’d like to focus on the latter structure, so this is clearer and echoes that of the rest of my writing. That means you’ll know what to expect and when, and there’s just as much value but more time to digest things. I hope you agree!
For instance, I have loved sharing my Sow, Grow, Harvest, Rest Reading Group posts but started to feel that monthly was a little too often (I know how quickly a month can pass and how much the to-read pile can grow, not shrink, in that time!) Instead, I’m suggesting a new series-turned-reading-group called Seasonal Reading: around each turn of the Celtic Wheel I’ll share a few favourite seasonal reads that match the mood of the time of year, as well as a wee round-up of what I’ve been reading recently and invite you to do so too. Hopefully that will mean those who still want to join in with the sharing can do so and we retain the community element, while those looking for gentle seasonal inspiration can also get that here too. Let me know what you think!
