One of my favourite seasonal rituals in the run-up to Yule is making my own festive gifts. So much of the festive season for me is about anticipation, and taking time to make, craft and make my gifts is as much a part of the build-up in my home as decorating the flat or trimming the tree. As I mentioned in my newsletter last week, I also think the best gift you can give others in our fast-paced modern world is actually the time you’ve taken to make these things with care. And there’s also the time you give to yourself that becomes a bonus gift to you: an opportunity to slow down during the festive busyness and get into the creative flow. Whatever you love to make will be a perfect gift, in my book - as that love will come through in the making.
