Last month marked three years since we got the keys to our Edinburgh tenement, and three years of the big slow renovating and decorating we’ve been living with are about to come to an end as we tackle the final room in the flat. Don’t get me wrong, there is still plenty of snagging left to deal with, and lots of details and updates to share with you for many more months I’m sure - I don’t think a home is ever really “done” - but I’ll be relieved to pack away the paint tins for the foreseeable at least! I’m really glad we’ve taken this approach: getting to know the light through the seasons, our shifting needs for the space and reflecting on how we live has meant that our choices have always been intentional and, I think, the right ones for us. Here are my plans and progress so far for our final room: the box room - a.k.a my studio or writing nook. Excited is an understatement!
