Small Summer Joys and A Dried Flower Garland
Noting my Summer glimmers, and a very easy craft for a rainy afternoon ☔️
I’ve been really overwhelmed by the response to my post about why Summer can be hard. It seems as though it has resonated with a lot of you. It’s also been lovely to see others writing on the same theme, including this piece in the FT. Seeing how it’s landed, reading these other articles and chatting in the comments and my DMs on Instagram has made me feel less alone in having a tough time during the sunnier months, and, I hope that if that’s you too, then hearing this makes you feel less like you’re the only one. I thought I’d spend some time today making a concrete list of some of my recent small Summer joys, moving them out of my camera roll, notes app and journal to a permanent place here. Maybe some of them will give you ideas for some small Summer joys of your own to seek out or inspire you to make your own list as well. I’m also sharing a simple Summer craft in today’s newsletter as I realised (not for the first time!) that making something with my hands is the best tonic for a busy brain just now.
