When we were house hunting, a garden was top of our list of wants. However, post-pandemic, in an already hyper-competitive market, clearly we weren’t the only ones. We saw so many lovely houses with gardens that were a bit too far out of town, or a bit too big to tend but were lovely all the same. The highlight was one in the South of the city, with established fruit trees, rows of Summerfruits and a pond. It was a shame the house attached didn’t tick the rest of our boxes! We bid and lost on a beautiful ground floor flat with dream garden and garden office (!) the week we eventually bid and won our now-flat.
