I used to find the week between Christmas and New Year a bit of a strange, limbo time. Before I started to embrace slow living, I found that the sudden quiet after the climax of the “Big Day” celebrations often felt uncomfortable in a world that so seldom stops. In a world where I seldom stopped. The older I’ve gotten, the more I come to crave and relish this quiet in-between time around Midwinter. There’s a slowness that is calling to me deeply this year after a tricky December, so I thought in today’s post I would share some gentle journaling prompts - inspired, as always, by the natural world - to reflect on the turning of the year and to help us to savour the slowness of deep Winter as the page turns on the calendar next week.
