The opening spread of the ‘Ostara’ chapter of my book, Slow Seasons, illustrated by Holly Ovenden.

Back in January, I spoke about my approach to New Year’s Resolutions - or rather lack thereof! Instead of setting impossible goals and punishing targets during the deepest, darkest start of the calendar year, I do some gentle January reflection on the past year, and let this sit for a little while before I start setting intentions for the year ahead when I feel ready. Generally when Imbolc rolls around I feel like I’m getting there, and certainly by the time Ostara arrives it feels much more like a new year and fresh start, and time for me to begin nurturing some plans for the year ahead. Here are some ideas and reflections on gentle planning this Spring Equinox Week.
