In the lead-up to each of the celebrations in the Celtic Wheel of the Year I love to share my lists of seasonal ingredients and recipe ideas. As we head towards Yule next month, there are so many delicious things coming into season in time for festive feasting; we might associate winter with frugality but there is actually surprising abundance in the kitchen. From root vegetables to fungi, nuts to citrus fruits, there’s so much to enjoy paired with larder staples and seasonal spice. Many of my seasonal favourites are arriving at the greengrocer at the moment, with leafy clementines and sweet chestnuts alongside scarlet red cranberries and golden quinces (pictured on my new kitchen sideboard above - quietly calling to me with their delicious, rosy scent). Here is a list of what’s coming into season in the coming weeks and some ideas for what to make with these ingredients.
